How many sockets do they have?

1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 10 gang / way.

How long are they?

1/2M, 1M, 2M, 3M, 5M 8M 10M and 15M

Are they surge protected?

We carry a selection of surge protected leads. These are best used with electronic equipment (chargers, computers, TV, HiFi Etc).

Do you have any on a reel?

Yes we do! When using these, always unwind the whole reel. All cables with electricity flowing through them develop heat. This is due to the ‘coil effect’ and can also be from high ambient temperatures! For this reason all reels should have a safety thermal switch and the maximum unwound and wound wattage ( load) clearly printed on them.

Should I use an extension lead?

Extension leads should usually be used as a short term solution. When using them make sure they are not a trip hazard (but do not cover them with carpets / mats etc). Do not overload them (check the wattage of the appliance before plugging in) ! Make sure the appliance is ‘off’ before plugging in (the socket contacts are not designed to be a switch) !

Can I use them outside?

Some can be used outside (even in wet conditions. Check the ‘IP’ rating).

Do any have USB charging ports?

Yes some do have these!

What colour are they?

They can vary in colour. Usually they are white or black. Some are orange or blue.
